I’ve never attempted one of these before, but seeing as I’m a lady of leisure today, I thought I’d give it a go. If you want to play to, there’s a list of the questions at the bottom of this post you can copy and paste.
1. Where is your cell phone
Almost always in my hand. I’m sorry to say I check it obsessively - but more for email than anything else…
2. Your hair:
needs cutting. I keep getting told I should grow it long, but let’s face it, long hair is FOR GIRLS. I had an amazing hairdresser up in Sheffield (lawrence at hair kandy on ecclesall road, if anyone is looking for a snip!), but haven’t managed to find anyone down here yet. Still, there’s time.

3. Your mother:
is a bad-ass. one of the most sarcastic people I know. she’s awesome. she’s a teacher in a 6th form college and hates her job though, which makes me sad. I love her to pieces. She’s a total mathematical and scientific genius. As we live in different cities we like meeting up for weekends in different places. This photo was taken when we went to London last year, and were nomming on chocolate covered strawbs in Camden. Yum!
4. Your father:
lives in Tasmania with my step mum and little bro. they lived in sweden for a while, and I went over to visit one time with some other members of the fam and we all went to Copenhagen for the day (it’s only a 20 minute train ride from Malmo, which was where he lived). This photo was taken on that day. He used to be in the navy, and is a massive geekazoid nautical engineering brain.
Considering how scientific and mathematical both my parents are, I have no idea how I turned out the way I did. I can’t do sums to save my life, the only aspect of science that interests me is the humanist aspect of it. So really, I guess the conclusion is that I must be adopted. No matter. They love me just the same ;)
5. Your favorite food:
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSHI
I never really fancied sushi when I was younger, and it wasn’t really a common food in the UK until fairly recently. But I lived in California for a year, and it’s everywhere over there. So I tried some, back in 2003, and I freaking loved it! The place that took my sushi cherry was Tako Sushi in Berkeley. In Cardiff there are a couple of really good sushi restaurants within walking distance of my house, which is dangerous! Tenkaichi on City Road, and Ichiban on Albany Road, both in Roath. Nom freakin nom!
6. Your dream from last night:
No idea. I rarely remember them. Hopefully it was something about Fungus the Bogeyman. That would be cool.
7. Your favorite drink:
Ok, fess up time, I am a complete Starbucks/caffeine whore. In particular - hot caramel machiatos, and frozen coffee of ANY KIND. Even in the winter. Seriously. I think I have a problem. Also I really love freshly squeezed beetroot juice, but that’s only on special occasions.
8. Your dream/goal:
In terms of work, I sort of do it, right now (which is nice). It’s a bit multifaceted, but I have a short attention span, so need numerous things to keep me busy! Basically, I guess, I love writing, more than anything, in the whole big wide world. Except possibly music. But with music, it’s more a passive thing, even when you’re djing (which I do from time to time - me and my friend Adam are starting a night at the Cardiff Arts Institute called Wonky Disco. Stay tuned for more deets real soon!). I get high when I’m writing. I’m not even kidding. Adrenaline rushes and everything, like when you’re totally immersed in something you absolutely love, to your FUCKING CORE! So I guess the goal would be to write whatever I liked, all the time, and make a living from it. I have just about finished my first non-fiction book, due to be published in February, which is a biography on the enigma that is Lady miss Gaga.
9. What room are you in:
The dining room / study / office / general mess. Note artwork by elsie on the wall - one of my most prized possessions! It’s a print of her Panda Girl painting, which I *LOVE*. You should really follow Elsie’s blog too. I’m a bit addicted
10. What is your hobby:
(though not this well!)
11. What is your fear:
Wooden spoons. GOD I HATE THEM!
12. Where were you last night:
And it was AWESOME. New bar that has opened up, called Cardiff Arts Institute, like I mentioned already. Opening night, free mojitos, Cate Le Bon played a lovely set, and Jon Carter nudged me and my mate Daf off the decks so he could play an impromptu set. And … I think … we got booked to DJ at Field Day. But don’t quote me on that, at least not until I’ve sobered up
13. Something you are not:
Tall, scared of the dark (ok, I am a bit scared of the dark)

raspberry and white choc! or carrot. mmmm, carrot

oh god. How long do we have? better make this quick….
though to be honest, you could pretty much get me anything off etsy and I’d love you forever…
16. Where did you grow up:
A few places… Cardiff, Exeter, and Southampton. Wherever we lived though, we were always right next to the sea, pretty much. Which I love
17. Last thing you did:
got out of bed way too early this morning and moved my car so I don’t get a ticket
18. What are you wearing:
seriously? a supreme being hoody, pjs and my glasses. that’s a hot look right there!
19. Your TV:
watched rarely, and only for documentaries or nature programs. I pretty much hate everything on TV.
20. Your pets:
This little guy was my first real pet - he got run over. RIP, little dude.
Today, I share the house with two animals:
Leia (aka, little sod)
and Nousha, aka, slightly special rescue dog
they’re both lush, in their own ways. They don’t get on at all, which is a bit of a shame.

Car boot sales, charity shops, thrift stores. THAT kind of business

It changes all the time, but it’s usually either neon pink or lime green. Or sunshine yellow.
29. When’s the last time you laughed:
Last night. Nearly all night. More laughter predicted later today.
30. When’s the last time you cried:
Who knows. I usually run a monthly cycle of crying, if you see what I mean, and it’s typically because I can’t find my glasses, or something equally terrible. Nothing wrong with a good sob now and then!
