an anti-social experiment

Saturday lunchtime....

I’m sat at the computer, about to begin the second mammoth research session of the weekend. doubtless there’ll be another one tomorrow too. Johnny’s in the basement, cooking up the medicine… not really. Shaney’s in the bathroom, painting up the skanky walls. We’re trying to do the house up to sell (fingers crossed in the current climate - we need to live somewhere quieter! I found some amusing students had left full binbags on the roof of my car the other morning - final straw), he’s stained floorboards and done a lot already. Today he’s sorting the bathroom, and I’m in the dining room, listening to new albums and needing to get on with my work!

I got up at 8 this morning, and deciding I needed a break (before starting …. hmmmm) headed to do some vintage digging at a car bootie. I wish we called them flea markets, it sounds so much cooler! Leanne is a veteran booter, so we were guaranteed to find some cool stuff.

The weather was forecast to be really bad today, so I guess there weren’t that many stalls - but we still got some cool bits…

For kitchen storage purposes, two lovely wee bumble bee yellow jars (50p each)

kids books! remember funnybones? A lot of my childhood was taken up reading Janet and Alan Ahlberg books. They were rad. And the illustrations were so good. May have to go on a bit of an Ahlberg adventure soon! (£1 for ten books)

I almost didn’t buy this, as I already have a house full of bags, shoes and hats, it seems but I love it! It’s a proper old bowling bag - used to belong to someone who lived in Bristol (address is on the inside). Will be good for jaunts in the camper, I think. (£1)

Not all this wool is from the car boot - some of it was purchased from Shaws yesterday. I’m crocheting some friends a blanket, which is taking ages! And using up a lot of wool. Thankfully I’ve got a year to crochet it for them…. :-)

And that’s your lot. Enough tumblr for today, back to the grind.

What have you been doing today?
