Last weekend we had a leaving party for my friend Adam, who is moving to Bristol with his lady. During the day a bunch of people came over to ours, we had an enormous and highly tasty lasagne cooked by my lovely boyfriend, and then a tonne of cake baked by me. We walked around the park and the wildlife reserve at the bottom of the road, came back for a mean game of Cranium, and then headed into town to Gwdihw, where we had a section of the back garden reserved for us.
There’s a lot of the night I don’t remember all too well. But I do know we had a marvellous time.
The pics were taken on the retro camera app on my phone. The normal camera (and my actual digital camera) refused to work in the low light, but the retro camera app deals with low light quite well (doesn’t use the flash either).

Working through Chapter 11, wordcount 35,529.
First time I’ve had to work on this novel for ages, in between moving house and going on holiday and getting burgled
Getting closer to that magical 40k mark. Magical why? Because that’s - probably - about half way. Mind you, after all the editing and potching that will happen later, who knows where I am.
I don’t pay much heed to horoscopes, but my mum has always been dead keen on the Chinese Years. I’m a monkey, born in 1980, and as such (allegedly) I’m very fickle with my attentions, often starting things but losing interest and moving on if it does not completely absorb me. As such, so I read, “Monkey people should try extra hard in 2012 to stay on track when doing important tasks.”
And that is my new year’s resolution. If you can call it that, it’s more like a resolution for life in general - to be better at finishing things.
So I’m working on two projects this year - this, and working turning a website I run called We Are Cardiff into a documentary. Those projects - and only those. I’ll probably do some other little things, here and there. But those are the biggies.
A photo of me from December, wandering down the Taf Trail across the river from our house, heading towards Grangemoor Park (aka ‘Asbo Hill’, as I was told by a lady from Grangetown who was over there)
